Part-time courses

Classes under the part-time (extra-mural) program are run at weekends between 8 am and 8 pm. There are 8 sessions during each semester. The academic year lasts from October to the end of June and is divided into two semesters. Instruction is provided in Polish.

The first six semesters are comprise core intruction,focusing on the fundamental knowledge of mathematics, algorithmics and informatics required by a graduate of bachelor’s (engineer’s) degree in IT. Under core instructions, the candidate is familiarised with, among others, basic database techniques, principles of software development and computer network development as well as applications of multimedia. Above all, the candidate learns to program in key languages such as Java and C++. In addition, the curriculum includes core mathematics, marketing, management and law.

As part of the specialized instruction, students choose a major (specialized area) in which to further expand their knowledge and skills. Specialized classes are customized for each major; examples include programming languages such as Prolog, ML, Assembler, C# or SQL. Specialized instruction also addresses practical team-working skills through participation in specific projects.
